This image was taken during the first days of the new year, our ascent of Catbells began in the dark around 5am, there’s nothing better than seeing a new day come to life from atop a deserted mountain.
Here you can see Blencathra bathing in the first sunlight of the day.
Ashness Jetty 2.0
2019 seen the removal of arguably the most famous jetty in the country. The old jetty was wonky and full of character and probably the most photographed jetty in the UK, i took this image a week or so after the new Jetty was built in its place.
My most favourite place to watch the sun rise is definitely Buttemere, it has such an ethereal feel at first light, it’s very often so calm it appears glass like on the lake surface. This is probably my favourite picture of 2019.
This image was taken above Lingmoor in early November, a stunning backdrop and one of the most popular areas to walk in the Lakes, with stunning views reminiscent of the Canadian Rockies
